HT-Abrasive Hotside kits allow Revo users to upgrade their set-ups to enable reliable printing at higher temperatures with materials such as PEEK or PEI, including abrasive materials like carbon fiber, glass fiber, and glow in the dark.

High temperature, abrasive resistance Nozzles. Much like ObXidian, HT-Abrasive nozzles have a hardened steel tip and copper spreader segment to optimise the transmission of heat to the heatsink. This assembly is then coated with Chromium Nitride to provide abrasive resistance up to 500°C.

Fully customisable. Configure your ideal high temperature HotEnd. Choose between a PT100 or PT1000, as well as either a high precision heater cartridge (up to 400C) or high temperature heater cartridge (up to 500C).

Rapid identification. HT-Abrasive nozzles are grey in colour and have their sizes engraved into them with easy-to-read numbers, so there are no confusing identification markers to learn!

Please note:

  • Revo™ Nozzles are not compatible with V6-style heaterblocks
  • If your printer is not already using PT100 sensing then an amplifier board will be required to use the PT100 hotside variant.
  • You may need to adjust your Z offset when changing nozzles.
  • We do not recommend the use of abrasive materials with 0.25mm nozzles. The particle sizes, especially with fibres, can often be larger than 0.25mm, significantly increasing the risk of clogging the nozzle.
  • 12v/65w heaters will draw close to 6 amps, please be sure your printer control board can handle this.

Key features:

  • Maximum temperature: 400°C/500°C

Cables

Like the High Flow Hotside kit, cables are not included (except for the "right-angle" heater option, which includes a 2 meter heater cable with inline connector rated at 85C). If you need other cables, your options are as follows:

Rated to 80 degrees C - Revo Extension Cables, E3D Thermistor Cable
Rated to 125 degrees C (connector limit) -  E3D High Precision Fiberglass Insulated Cable (suitable for both heater and temperature sensor)

FAQs:

Why do you need to wear gloves when handling?

E3D recommends the use of gloves when handling high temperature nozzles and blocks as the oils from your hands off gas at high temperatures resulting in an odour and increased probability for accelerated corrosion of component parts.

Why doesn’t the high-temperature Hotside have a HeaterCore like the standard Revo?

From E3D's extensive research and development (including 1000+ hours at temperature), they found that using a traditional block and cartridge setup, whilst maintaining the ease of use of the Revo nozzles, provided the most reliable, robust solution for extremes of temperature.

Why do the Revo high-temperature products not have silicone socks?

High temperature-rated silicone socks will be available later in 2023.
