The Voron Trident is an open source CoreXY 3D printer with a fixed gantry and a bed carried on three independently driven leadscrews. The chamber is fully enclosed and the bed reaches 110 °C. LDO builds the Cube kit at 300mm in all three axes rather than the standard 250mm Z height from the original bill of materials.
Rev. D is the latest revision, and it addresses the steps that often delay first time builders. The looms arrive cut and crimped, the toolhead runs on a single USB cable, and the touchscreen, chamber lighting, stainless rails, and hardware for two common mods are already in the box.

Every Trident built to the official BOM stops at 250 mm in Z, regardless of which XY size is picked.
LDO extends the Z on the 300 mm variant to match the footprint. Frame extrusions, linear rails, and panels are all cut and specified for the taller frame, so the assembly follows the standard manual step for step with no substitutions and no improvised parts. There is one size and one configuration to order.

CoreXY bolts both motors to the frame and drives the toolhead through crossed belt loops, keeping moving mass low enough to hold accuracy at speed. The Trident takes that layout and fixes the gantry in place permanently.
The bed does the work in Z instead, riding on three leadscrews with a stepper on each. Klipper probes the plate, drives the screws independently until it sits parallel with the gantry, and repeats the routine at the start of the next print. The whole routine is a G-code macro, so it happens without anyone touching the machine.
Leadscrews also hold their position when the power is off, so a Trident tends to stay in tune between builds.

The two enclosed Vorons share their CoreXY motion, the Stealthburner toolhead, and the Klipper ecosystem. The Z axis is the difference.

For a first Voron, the Trident is often the better choice. A Voron 2.4 will punish a sloppy gantry build for as long as you own it, while a Trident with the same errors will still print. At 300 mm of Z, the Trident Cube also covers a big reason that many builders go 2.4 in the first place.

A Trident needs a full set of printed parts, in ABS or ASA, since the chamber runs too hot for PLA to survive. LDO includes the kit-specific prints such as the Leviathan brackets, Nitehawk adapter, cable anchors, and LED diffuser, and publishes a Printed Parts Guide covering settings and a checklist for the rest.
With a working printer, start those files the day you order so they are done when the kit lands. The Raspberry Pi is not included by default and must be sourced separately.
Around 1.5 kg of ABS or ASA covers a full set of printed parts for the Voron Trident build.
There are 96 brass heatset inserts to melt into the printed parts. LDO supplies the insert tip, hex wrenches, and a driver, so you need your own iron and a pair of side cutters.
The official Voron manual drives the mechanical assembly, and LDO's build notes accompany it, marking the steps that change because of what's included. The wiring guide covers the pre-terminated looms and the Leviathan pinout.
Once Klipper is talking to the board, print the Voron design cube first. It exercises extrusion, temperature control, motion, and dimensional accuracy in one small part, and it will tell you quickly what, if anything needs tuning. LDO recommends OrcaSlicer, which ships with Voron profiles ready to go.

The Trident is an official Voron Design release under GPL-3.0. Source CAD, STLs, and the assembly manual are public on GitHub, with years of community testing and documentation behind them.
Running Klipper means every macro, web interface, and tuning workflow from the wider Voron world applies here directly, and LDO publishes the printer configuration for this kit.
Nothing is vendor locked. Every component can be sourced online.
