LDO Baby Belt Pro V2.6 DIY Belt Printer Kit

The BabyBelt Pro is a Klipper-based belt printer kit from LDO. Instead of a fixed bed, prints come out on an inclined conveyor belt. When a part has finished, the belt carries it off the front of the machine and the next one starts. Queue up a batch and come back to a whole bin of parts. Because the bed never runs out of room on the Z axis, you can also print things far longer than the machine itself.

Why a belt printer

A normal printer finishes a part, then sits there until someone pulls it off the bed. A belt printer keeps going. Finished parts pop off the end of the belt on their own, so one machine can work through a whole batch overnight with nobody around. The angled gantry is what makes the infinite Z possible. Since the print moves along the belt instead of building upwards, part length is only limited by how much filament is on the spool.

Belt printers also have a reputation for being hard to source and harder to tune. LDO's answer is the V2.6 bill of materials. Every component on the list has been checked against the rest, so you can build it without having to second guess whether parts from different vendors will be compatible.

Engineering Improvements

The core of the setup is a SKR Mini E3 V3 board with Klipper, and a TFT35 touchscreen up front. Rather than running a bunch of separate wires all the way back to the mainboard, a dedicated BabyBelt toolboard pulls the toolhead wiring into one tidy harness. Fewer runs, and fewer connections to rattle loose over time.

The BabyBelt Pro V2.6 also runs LDO's own 42 and 28 series steppers, batch-matched so they stay consistent through long unattended prints. They drive a GT2 belt system on a rigid frame. The hotend takes X1C or P1P style hotends and uses a 104NT thermistor, with cooling handled by a 3010 blower and a 2510 axial fan. Powering it all is a 24V 8.33A supply.
