LDO INBXX Filament Cabinet

INBXX is an enclosed cabinet that stores your filament in a sealed, dry chamber and feeds it straight to the printer. Designed by Voxel3D and manufactured by LDO, it holds 2 to 10 spools and works with an INDX toolchanger or an MMU3 multi-material setup. The metal frame carries up to 40 kg, so a printer can sit on top, and the four hardware kits can assemble into more than 250 configurations. It's designed for the Prusa CORE One, but also works with a variety of different 3D printers.

How INBXX Works

The cabinet is built from black anodized 2020 aluminum, with the spools closed inside so they stay out of the open air. Filament reaches the printer through PTFE tubes that leave through matching slots along the sides, rear, or base. Since the frame is rated for 40 kg, the printer can sit on top of the cabinet instead of next to it.

You lock in the layout as you build: how many spools it carries, whether it runs rollers or rewinders, which way the doors swing, and where the tubes come out. There is space inside for a dryer or heater, so the filament stays conditioned between jobs.

Reclaims bench space

An INDX setup on the CORE One usually needs close to a meter of desk width, since the spools mount along the side. Moving those spools into INBXX frees roughly 40 cm of bench space. Printers can then sit against a wall or directly beside another machine, with the full workflow reachable from the front.

Configure the Cabinet

When choosing a cabinent, there's two decisions to consider. How the printer pulls filament, and how many spools the cabinet needs to hold. A free-spinning feed suits printers that never rewind. A sprung feed suits printers that retract and re-feed. Capacity runs from a compact 2 to 5 spools up to a full 4 to 10.

01

Feed type

Feed type is decided by the multi-material system in use. The hardware matches the way a printer handles filament.

For INDX & toolchangers

SpoolRollers

Each spool sits on rollers that spin freely, feeding out and stopping without pulling filament back. That is what a Bondtech INDX other toolchangers need, since those systems only ever draw filament forward. One set of rollers handles anything from a 300 g spool up to 2.2 kg, mix and match sizes.

For MMU & multiplexing

Rewinders

A spring-loaded rewinder takes up the slack every time the printer swaps tools, winding loose filament back onto the spool. Pick these for a Prusa MMU3 or other multiplexing systems that retract and re-feed. They come in two sizes, one for 1 kg spools and one for 2 kg.

02

Capacity

Spool count sets the height of the cabinet and the number of tools it can feed.

2 to 5 spools

Single-Story

The shorter build, holding two to five spools. It tucks in next to the printer, underneath it, or right on top, and covers setups running up to five tools.

4 to 10 spools

Double-Story

The taller build, stacking two independent stories for four to ten spools. Because each story feeds on its own, one cabinet can supply two printers at the same time, routing a story to each and opening its doors in opposite directions.

03

Base Optional

Every cabinet is ready for self-centering feet that print as part of the frame. The Caster Kit is an add-on and sold separately.

INBXX self-centering feet

Self-Centering Feet

Included and printed as part of the frame. They work on a desk, on the floor, or mounted on top of the printer.

INBXX leveling casters

Leveling Casters

The optional Caster Kit. Lowering the knob drops the hard rubber feet for vibration-free standing. Raising it lets the cabinet roll and reposition.

Compatibility & Requirements

Printer Compatibility

The design targets the Prusa CORE One running INDX or MMU3, but nothing ties it to that one machine. Set it up as a sealed dry box for an MK4S or almost any other printer, whether or not it feeds filament directly.

Which Feed Type

Match the feed to your system. A toolchanger like the INDX only pulls filament forward, so it wants SpoolRollers. An MMU3 or other multiplexer keeps retracting and re-feeding, so it needs Rewinders.

Placement

The self-centering feet are perfect on a desk, on the floor, or even on top of the printer. Choose the leveling casters instead when the cabinet lives on the floor and you want to wheel it around.

Printed Parts

This product is the hardware kit. You will print the frame parts and feet yourself from the Voxel3D STL files ($34), then assemble following the included manual.
