A\u003cspan\u003ell idlers are 20-tooth equivalent, except where noted. The \"16 tooth - smoothed\" idler is 16 tooth equivalent, but without teeth. Check posted drawing.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eA note on idler \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cb\u003einstallation -\u003c\/b\u003e The correct installation method is to use shims to fill the unused space on the shoulder bolt and prevent the idler body from dragging\/rubbing on the bolt head and\/or whatever the bolt is threaded into, but be careful not to use so many shims that the idler bearings experience axial compression.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe bearings in the idlers are radial bearings, not axial bearings. They are meant to handle radial load from belt tension, but not from axial compression by a shoulder bolt. one less shim than would create the compression mentioned above.
